About URAM Scholarship Program

MICRON presents URAM Scholarship program 2.0. The program aims to award academic excellence and encourage STEM careers for Men, Women Students & Persons with Disabilities from Engineering institutions across India. It nurtures and rewards academic rigor, innovation, research and co-curricular pursuits of men, women and the differently abled students pursuing technical higher education. Financial support shall be provided to meritorious engineering students studying full-term B.E/B.Tech Degree for 3rd year (5th Semester) & M.Tech 1st year in the field of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Computer Engineering in universities across the country.

  • Each candidate will receive subsistence support valued at upto $1000 (~INR 80,000) each.

Assessment

Technical assessment is used to evaluate the technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and practical abilities of candidates. The overall duration of the assessment will be 70 minutes. We will be covering Cognitive, Computer Science and Electronics as the major groups under which the assessment will happen. This will be conducted on the HirePro platform.

Smartathon

Smartathon is a dynamic and engaging competition that fosters innovation and problem-solving, inspiring candidates to develop cutting-edge solutions and make a positive impact on society through technology-driven initiatives.

Candidates have to address real-world challenges, explore futuristic scenarios, and make use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, blockchain, and augmented reality. Smartathon is designed around some of the most relevant social problems and is intended to bring out efficient technology driven solutions which could benefit society at a larger scale.

Candidates are challenged to devise and present smart and innovative ideas and projects within a limited timeframe.

Eligibility
  • Men & Women Engineers / Persons with Disability pursuing 3rd Year B.E/B.Tech (5th Semester) and 1st Year M.Tech of their courses from EEE / CSE / ECE domains
  • Minimum CGPA of 7.0 (CGPA concessions for PwD candidates)
  • If Family Income is less than 8 Lakhs p.a. – Due consideration may be given to those applicants who are challenged on account of their socio-economic status or are facing economic hardships.(Income Certificate need to be submitted with the application.)
  • Knowledge Engagement Assessment
    • B.E/B.Tech and M.Tech students - Based on bonafide submissions in Application, CGPA, college recommendations, formative and technical assessments and participation in Smartathon.
Allowance under the scholarship

The Scholarship amount may be accounted in respect of the following expenses: (Flexible expenditure upon validated request by the university/college)

  • Tuition and Examination fees
  • Hostel and Boarding Expenses
  • Participation in conferences, including travel
  • Research/Project related expenditure
Instructions for Application Submission
  • Scholarship applications for the students will be accepted via online application form only.
  • Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are Mandatory fields.
  • Only ONE application per candidate is allowed and it is the candidate’s responsibility to make sure that it is complete, with all supporting documentation and references as required.
  • Applicants who fail to meet the criteria shall not be considered for the scholarship.
  • Applicants are required to share their Consolidated/Semester-wise Mark Sheets provided by their respective Universities, attested by their registrar.
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
  • The Application form must be submitted along with the scanned and attested copies of the following documents:
    • Semester Wise Mark Sheets Consolidated CGPA 8 & above
    • Student ID card
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Income Certificate (Family Income less than 8 Lakhs per annum)
    • Bonafide Certificate
    • Recommendation letters from Professor/HoD
    • Disability Certificate (If applied under PwD category)
    • Passport size photograph (Not required attested copies)
    • Resume (Not required attested copies)
  • If errors are found in the application form at any stage, the applications are liable to be rejected.
  • Submission of Application Form does not guarantee selection for the scholarship.
  • Scholarship will be awarded based on the criteria mentioned below.
Scholarship Evaluation Criteria

Eligible candidates will be reviewed by the selection committee based on a criteria that includes Academic Excellence, Research, Co-Curricular Engagement, and Socio-Economic status of the candidate. Please find below the definition of each criterion -

  • Academic Excellence: CGPA, Participation in Trainings, workshop, seminars, proficiency courses, Inter/Intra Institutional competitions, Achievements, Awards, Honors.
  • Research & Co-Curricular Engagement: Participation in research initiatives, published research, scientific papers, publications, POC's, Prototypes, Innovations, disclosure, patents, etc.
  • Socio Economic Status: Family financial status will be duly considered as a criterion.
  • Assessments & Selection: Will be based on academic performance, credentials submitted in applications, cognitive and technical assessments as well as problem solving, design thinking abilities via innovation challenges and Smartathons.
