Phase 1 of the placement season at IIT Guwahati launched today, December 1, with three sessions – from 12 am, from 8:30 am, and from 4 pm. Phase 1 placements will continue till December 15, 2022. The first two sessions saw a total of 168 offers being made by 46 companies.
Two international job offers were also received by the end of the second session today. Students received the highest international offer of Rs 2.4 crore and the highest domestic offer of Rs 1.1 crore.
This year, a total of 1269 students and 264 companies have registered for placements. These companies will be recruiting for a total of 470 profiles. A total of 78 start-ups have also registered along with 5 Public Sector Undertakings for this year’s IIT Guwahati campus placements.
IIT Guwahati Students have already received 218 Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) – the highest in the last four years. Most of these were for job profiles related to core engineering, IT, finance and analyst.
Employers and students are meeting face-to-face for physical campus placements after two years as placements had been carried out virtually during the pandemic.
JOB ROLES
Job roles that were hired for at today’s placement session were Software Development Engineer, Data Science, Quant, Core Engineer, UX Designer, VLSI, Vehicle Engineering, Analyst, Product Designer job profiles, among others.
TOP COMPANIES
The top recruiters at the first two placement sessions this year include Texas Instruments, Google, Uber, Qualcomm, C-DOT, Enphase Energy, Oracle, Nutanix, Thoughtspot MTS-2, Squarepoint SDE/Quant, American Express, JP Morgan Chase, Bajaj, Rippling, Tibra, Cohesity, and Sprinklr Platform + Product, among others.
